Throwback Thursday – Dark Hollow Falls

Dark Hollow Falls in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia, is rumored to have been a favorite spot of Thomas Jefferson. It sits about 3/4 of a mile off of Skyline Drive. If you ever plan to go, expect to make a steep descent to get there and then remember you’ll have to ascend that same path. I did it carrying approximately 50 lbs of camera equipment on my back when I hiked the trail. My thighs and knees ached for a week afterward, but it was worth it.

  1. Beauty and balance – keen eye you´ve got Michelle, this photo is lovely! And I can almost hear the water tumbling down and smell the cool, damp and woody air.
